Replication 2.0 @ Fort Houston

"It's back!

Replication, Nashville's only annual juried 3D Printing Show, is back for a second year at Fort Houston during the monthly Wedgewood/Houston neighborhood art crawl.

Applications are open until November 17th. Go to to apply!

"In the past five years, 3-D printing has made extraordinary leaps, thanks to advances that have made the 3-D printers themselves less and less expensive. For the price of a tricked-out computer, you can have one in your house — not to mention your small businesses or your public library.

Replication, a juried show of 3-D printed objects at Fort Houston last December, celebrated the wide array of uses local artists and artisans have found for the clos...est thing to Star Trek's Replicator, from figurines and sculptures to geometric plant pots. Replication 2.0 is just around the corner, and the call for entries is open now.

Applications are free, open to all ages, [and only take about 10 minutes to complete]. The application period closes Nov. 17 and the show runs Dec. 5-27; opening night is during the December Art Crawl. Check out the application for complete details.

Jayson Wall shot a very cool 360-degree video at the opening night of last year's show, which you can check out after the jump. (Give it time to load, because it's several camera feeds stitched together. Once it's rolling, you can use the cursor in the upper left corner to pan and tilt your perspective throughout Wall's walkthrough.)"
