"THE INFINITY CAT VISITOR'S CENTER AND GALLERY IS PROUD TO PRESENT AMANDA LEADMAN'S "JUNGLE CAT."
Amanda Leadman grew up in Dayton, Ohio and at 18 briefly studied fine art in New York City. She returned home unsure of what medium to focus on, only to become more and more fascinated with tattoos. She began her apprenticeship at the age of 19, and moved on to work in Philadelphia five years later. She has been a Nashville resident since 2012, happily joining the Black 13 Tattoo family. She started painting with watercolors around the same time she relocated here, and is excited for her first time showcasing this talent.
With a focus on nature in all of her art, she wanted "Jungle Cat" to be a simple expression of her love of animals, the rainforest, and folk art that comes from the natives in those reigns. In everyday work life, most tattoos have meanings. This show is about enjoying the simplicity and happiness we can get out of just looking at something lively or pretty… meaningful in it's own way.
Opening Saturday August 1st as part of the Arts & Music at Wedgewood/Houston Art Crawl. Please join us at 467 Humphreys St for beer, wine, and a signature cocktail.
